Sony a7S III Firmware Ver. 2.0 Rumored to Feature QFHD/120p 12Bit RAW Output via HDMI

A new firmware version 2.0 will be launched in September 2021 ahead of IBC 2021, according to recent reports. This new firmware allows QFHD/120p 12Bit RAW output via HDMI to Sony a7S III.

Sony A7s III is a 4K camera with outstanding video specs and a modern user experience. It can record up to 120p UHD 4K videos in 10-bit 4:2:2 encoding, offering 16-bit Raw video quality. 4K video capture at 120fps (up to 30min), 4K 60fps (up to 60min) and FullHD 240fps.

The camera can capture 4K video internally at 10-bit 4:2:2, record up to 600mbps, and support dual SD UHS-II or new CFexpress Type-A cards.
